It’s been an awesome summer. I wish it would never end.

Make no excuses…

Time to return home, right here, to my space, to you. This is my generation, we make no excuses, we want you to know what we are doing and how we are doing it. You can call it therapy- minus the £60 hourly charge. Personal but not private. You’ll never get private here… I gladly let the world know what I’m feeling but never why. That’s for my closest circle of friends.

Life is this…. what you see right here, up and down and up we go. It’s not about finding yourself but creating yourself, so I did. Sometimes life tests everything you believe in and you have to show it just how strong you are. And here I am, better than before. Told you I would be the last one standing didn’t I?

Let’s go on this journey together. I’ve missed you baby x

New direction

Lovers,

I am so sorry about the on and off break from the blog during the past few months. I have longed for you all, your amazing feedback and energy but It didn’t feel right to return before knowing what direction I wanted my blog to take.

During this break I have not read any blogs which is very unusual for me, even those belonging to my amazing friends. The only blog I didn’t managed to cut out of my days is that of the beautiful Michaela Forni. I’ve been following her blog for so long that she now feels like part of the family. The reason I am so addicted to her blog is because she takes her readers on a journey, her journey. Her blog is so personal yet not private. She writes about fashion but it goes beyond that. She writes about life, she doesn’t try to glamorise it, it is what it is, with its ups and downs and that’s what makes her blog feel real. My life is not all about shopping and travel and I want a blog that represents me. Everyone has different reason for blogging and want different things out of it, my reason has been the need for a creative space where I can write.

I might spend a day with a friend who just lost her job or going through a divorce and feel like writing about loss of direction or a post on relationships and break ups. The concern there is that my readers will think I am writing about my own life which wouldn’t be the case, that’s where the line between personal and private goes. I am lucky to say that I live a rich life where I meet interesting people with many layers and intensity. These people, some friends others strangers, inspire me on daily basis and set off chains of thoughts that I want to be able to share with you. Of course fashion, beauty and travel is a big part of my life and that will be reflected on here  as well ;)

I guess what I want is a more personal blog and that’s what I promise you from now on. You may hate it or perhaps you will love it….all I want is for you to feel something when you visit my blog.

I’ve missed you so much.

Stay close,

Dena

This is where I’m writing from, me and Charlotte’s made up office in cosy pub The Elgin near Ladbroke Grove. I love this place so much. Quiet during the day and buzzing at night.

Lucky win

I’ve been looking for the perfect denim jacket all summer as it’s been a big trend. I love throwing one on over a cute summer dress. So I was delighted when I won this amazing InWear jacket on one of my favourite blogs Ladybirds Nest. Winning a jacket from one of my favourite Scandinavian brands in one thing but getting the sweetest package from a girl I adore is another. I love the jacket and can’t wait to show it to you in an outfit post. Thank you so much sweetie, I love the bracelets you sent along in the package.
