Swalk Salon blow dry
I’ve visited blow dry bars before but I’ve never been as happy as I was last week when I had it done at Swalk Salon on Portobello Road. Akiela listens to you and understands exactly what it is that you’re after. My hair looked so full and sexy and I felt so confident that night, it’s amazing what a difference good hair can do. So if you got a big date coming up or a fun night out with the girls, make sure you drop by Swalk and get Akiela to do your hair. I can’t recommend her enough.

A bite of heaven
As many of you know my work schedule is not like most peoples. When you work in television, esp news, you tend to do 12 hour shifts which means you end up doing 4 x 12 hours and then you have 4 days off. I’m sure this sounds like heaven to many, but rotating this way means certain months (like this month) I work all weekends. This week I have Monday- Thursday off and today I spend most of the day with boyfriend. We went to Vue cinema in Westfield and watched The Adventures of Tintin. I was so disappointed- being the Tintin fan that I am I expected so much more. Have you seen it yet? if so then what did you think?
Handsome wanted to spoil me for putting up with the movie so he tooks me to my little heaven here in London: Ladurée ;) I had the Ispahan: Smooth rose flavored macaroon biscuit, rose petal cream, fresh raspberries and lychees. I can’t imagine anything more delicious.

Give me volume!
I dislike all things fake and hair extensions are most definitely one of them, but I sometimes envy the volume those girls have to their hair. Tonight I felt all glamourous because my hair has never looked fuller than this and it’s all natural. I used ghd’s Root Lift Spray before blow drying my hair upside down. Easy peasy Volume! ;)

Beach hair
I look so happy here don’t I? I’m already day dreaming of our next beach holiday. When I’m in the sun I protect my hair by using Spray Shine by Hemp Organics. It adds instant shine while guarding your hair from UVA/UVB and it smells like candy. For deep conditioning I use a hair masque in the lengths and leave it on while my hair in a bun. When I wash it out in the end of the day my hair feels silky.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
When I write about a product you can be sure I love it. I am constantly spending a fortune on beauty products and many of those never make the cut to end up on the blog. Those are products that fail to do what they promise. So when I find a products that delivers I want to share it with you asap and here’s one that has really impressed me.
I had heard so much about Nuxe Multi-purpose oil and when I was in France I finally purchased some. It’s a cocktail of 6 Precious Plant Oils (Borage, St John’s wort, Sweet Almond, Camellia, Hazelnut and Macadamia) and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften the face, body and hair. It has a lovely light fragrance and I really like that it can be used all over. The golden particles gives you a nice shimmer and enhances your tan. The best part is that it’s a dry oil which means it sinks right in and leaves no marks on your clothes. I use a few drops in my hair on a night out to get a dazzling effect.

Over the weekend I got to attend Aussie Bloggers Christmas Market and I brought along my girlies Olya and Katie. I knew it would lots of fun because the Aussie team always manage to put together the best events. The market included stalls held by some of the Aussie Angels offering all sorts from card making, to make-overs to boxing lessons. hair care tips
This is an entry I posted when I first launched the blog and no one knew about it. I am re-posting it again because probably most of you never looked that far back and missed it, secondly in this cold weather everyone is complaining about their hair. Seriously girls I can’t say this enough: get a Tangle Teezer. They are amazing.

A friend of mine asked me how I keep my hair healthy and shiny. Long hair has always been my thing, I can’t even imagine myself with short hair despite loving short cuts on others. Having long hair means you really have to look after it and what you’re eating and how you feel can really be mirrored in your hair. Have you noticed? One bad month of stress and your hair looks miserable, wel at least mine does.
As we all know more important than what you put in your hair is what you put in your body. I eat lots of Salmon. It’s loaded with omega-3 fatty acids needed to support scalp health. Vitamins and supplements help nourish your hair and scalp from within. Make sure your multi-vitamins contain vitamin A, C and E which your body needs to produce sebum- your hair’s natural conditioner, and Zinc and biotin which prevent hair loss. I have been taking Silica complex for years and seen result.
My hair dresser always warned me that one of the worst things for the hair is brisk towel drying. When drying, only squeeze hair gently with the towel. Avoid hard rubbing. Also I allow my hair to air dry as often as possible. I know it’s hard to stay away from the ghd’s but I try to only use mine once in a while and let my hair have some rest.
A product that I absolutely love is a treatment called Elasticizer by Philip Kingsley. It was introduced to me by a top hairdresser as models secret to great hair and I must say it’s been pretty fantastic to my hair.

And finally, as my friends know I hardly ever brush my hair and I truly believe this is why it ha maintained its shine. When needed I use the Tangle Teezer, it gently untangles hair and I have noticed less split ends since using it.

I feel like I’m advertising products at the moment but really I’m not receiving anything for mentioning these. I just like spreading the word on stuff that works. There are so many crap products out there so we should all share tips on what’s good and what’s not. What are your best tips for luscious hair?
