Marrakech

Been back from Marrakech for almost 10 days now but been busy catching up with friends and life. Me and Christina has the most fantastic time in Morocco. I have never been on a girlie holiday before and it was so incredibly relaxing. We both work hard here in London and live busy lives so a good rest was much needed. We did some sunbathing, visited the Atlas mountains which was probably my favourite part of the trip, and explored the souk (bazaar) almost every night hunting for treasures. I returned to London with a suitcase filled with jewellery and Argon oil. We met some really nice people and ate delicious food every day. Not to forget our Spa days, if you visit Morocco then you have you try their hammam.

And the sun kissed her skin

A well deserved and much needed holiday. Me and my friend Christina (Stina) are currently in the land of the bazaar- Morocco. To be more specific we are in Marrakech, a 10 minute walk from the old walled city, the Medina. It’s plus 40 degrees so the days are spent by the pool and the night are spent walking down mysterious alleys leading to stunning buildings and market places. I can’t get enough of the fantastic Moroccan cuisine and I’m way past “how many cups of mint tea is too many cups of mint tea”. This is my first girlie holiday and its so different to a couple holiday which is what I’m used to. I am totally relaxed and so happy to be spending quality time with the best friend away from work emails and deadlines.

Where I belong

My darlings,

Sorry for the long silence. I’ve missed you and the blog world. Our holiday was heavenly and I wanted to share it with you so much but the wi-fi wasn’t good enough to upload any large photos. We got home last week and I got a horrible chest infection (no I don’t smoke) and I’m now on antibiotics. Taking it all very well though after that wonderful break. Today I’m sick but that’s not the only reason to why I’m home. I have joined my colleagues in striking against cuts and job losses within the BBC. So the next 5 days I am off work and will be blogging lots. But first lets catch up with some holiday posts.

Zakynthos (Zante) is a beautiful Greek island surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea. My favourite beach was Alykes where the photo below was taken. It has a village atmosphere to it, with traditional tavernas and bars running along the beach. And the best part is that it’s never too crowded.

Sunny escape

I’m all packed for tomorrow morning and couldn’t be more excited :) It’s time to escape the horrible weather here at home and head for the Greek Island of Zante (Zakynthos). We’ve booked a suite at a 5 star hotel in a romantic village far away from the bars and clubs in the south of the island. I can’t wait to feel the sun on my skin. The hotel has good Wi-Fi so I will be updating from there.

Au revoir France

Our French getaway is coming to an end. We’ve had an amazing time here in South of France. I can really recommend it. The weather has been over plus 30 every day and we have enjoyed the company of some lovely people. I will post photos once home. Handsome was in Paris for work before meeting me down here and he brought me this lovely souvenir.

Time to breathe

Lovelies,

it’s been tough few months. A lot of stress at work but finally time for a holiday. I am off to join handsome in the land of macaroons and baguettes. The south of the country to be precis where plus 30 awaits us. We have a birthday party to attend, a concert where close friends will perform and beaches to visit. While I’m away my blog will be updated with some scheduled posts as well as posts from location.

Москва, Я люблю тебя!

So did you manage to guess where I’m going? well to the place I’m always going on about. Yes that’s right, mother Russia awaits. After 10 months of separation nothing could hold me from going back to the city I loved the most, Moscow. It’s hard to explain this to those who never been to Russia. People think of it as a dark, cold and scary place due to all the bad media coverage, I used to be one of those people. After having lived there for three years I can say it’s an amazing place that never leaves your thoughts or your heart. I can say that with confidence as we were a large group of Journalists that moved out there in 2005, some stayed and those of us who left can never go too long before going back for a visit.

I expect a grand welcoming from my girlies :) Cocktails on Ritz Carlton’s roof top, and then a visit to the city’s best clubs for lots of dancing. I can’t wait to finally be close to my best friends, we have so much planned, from ballet to shopping at Gum to a day in the countryside. I will try to update from there, and I will return with some beautiful photos to share.
