Proud of you

Look what I just received in the mail….

Can you spot the pretty blondie in the background looking all worried because of the mischievous Journalists? Yes it’s Sony pictures own head of publicity in Moscow, my lovely Natalie :) this is how we met, at an event similar to this. I was the mischievous Journalist freezing my behind off and she was the lovely PR girl who offered me her jacket. That was the start of a beautiful friendship. I am so proud of my girl for all the work she did to make the Salt premier the success it was. She is on a well deserved holiday right now and I miss her so much, not being able to call her in the middle of the night to discuss the most random things :) I know you are reading this so what better place to say: Hope you are having a wonderful time bestis. London awaits you !!!

With you by my side

More photos from my latest trip: Let me introduce you to some of my closest friends, these girls mean the world to me. I don’t have any sisters but I dare to say the bond between me and my girls is stronger than the one between many sisters.  Even if we are in different countries it’s as if we are never apart. I am a lucky girl!! And a happy girl because my best friend Olya who you can see in the 2nd photo is moving to London in september.

I’m wearing my Whistles dress which you’ve seen before. Love this dress because of its open back which you unfortunately can’t see in these photos.

Me on the roof top bar of Ritz Carlton- o2 lounge, our favourite bar with the best view in Moscow:)

This girl is my soul mate, she can read my mind and I love her to bits.

I have the most gorgeous BFF :)

Natlie, my loyal, strong, amazing friend. I know I can always count on you. I know you read this blog so let me say again I love you baby!

Darlings,

hope you had a nice Sunday. I met up with my friend Anastasia who had the loveliest news: She’s expecting a baby. I couldn’t be happier for her and her partner. She has never looked more beautiful and I can’t to be part of the baby’s life. I spent the rest of the day at home relaxing. I made some jelly…you probably didn’t know this but I have a huge weakness for jelly.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post photos from my last visit to Moscow. I think I was avoiding it because I didn’t want to be reminded that once again I’m far away from my loved ones. I had the most amazing week there and it truly felt like being home. I will keep posting Moscow photos in the next couple of days.

The first place I headed to when I was alone for an hour was Red Square and my favourite view: Saint Basil’s Cathedral

St. Basil’s in next to GUM department store where you can find every single designer name under one roof.

And I was lucky and surprised because a little bit later the sun started to set. It was breathtaking…one of those wow moments.

The day my blog dissapeared and reappeared!:)

 My darlings,

thanks for letting me know that the blog was down. I almost had a heart attack. Contacted word press who were really helpful and instantly sorted everything out.

I’m having such a lovely time here in Moscow.  It’s incredibly hot so we spent yesterday by the river with friends.  Stunning views …I felt totally at peace.

So I had a call from my bestis who had some amazing news. I will be interviewing one of my favourite actors in London on the 8th July. Now I never get starstruck but when I heard who it was I got a little, well very excited. Not sure I’m allowed to give away his name so I let Natasha decide whether it can be revealed or not and if yes leave his name in the comments field. (hint: he has Italian blood, dates super models only and in my opinion he was the hottest when he put on a South African accent).

Москва, Я люблю тебя!

So did you manage to guess where I’m going? well to the place I’m always going on about.  Yes that’s right, mother Russia awaits. After 10 months of separation nothing could hold me from going back to the city I loved the most, Moscow. It’s hard to explain this to those who never been to Russia. People think of it as a dark, cold and scary place due to all the bad media coverage, I used to be one of those people. After having lived there for three years I can say it’s an amazing place that never leaves your thoughts or your heart. I can say that with confidence as we were a large group of Journalists that moved out there in 2005, some stayed and those of us who left can never go too long before going back for a visit.

I expect a grand welcoming from my girlies :) Cocktails on Ritz Carlton’s roof top, and then a visit to the city’s best clubs for lots of dancing. I can’t wait to finally be close to my best friends, we have so much planned, from ballet to shopping at Gum to a day in the countryside. I will try to update from there, and I will return with some beautiful photos to share.

You can always leave me comments while I’m away or drop me a line on beingdena@gmail.com.

Miss you already ♥

A day I like to forget

What a horrid day it’s been…. woke up 7 am to a text from my friend Natalie saying two bombs have gone off in Moscow. One at the Park Kultury Station- the area where the news channel I used to work for is based. I just grabbed my phone and started dialing all my friends numbers, terrified that they had been in the underground going to work at Park Kultury during the rush hour. None of the numbers would dial as the networks were down. I finally managed send them all txts and soon enough txts started arriving back, one by one. They were all ok. All my loved ones were safe. I have never longed back to Moscow as much as this morning. My friend Natalie laughed when she heard this, she said: “most people would be scared of coming here now and you long to be here.” I guess it’s natural to feel that way when you love a place and you have your loved ones there.

Straight after that I texted my news editor about the incident and knew it would be a long hectic day at work- and it was.

So Yes it’s been a bad day and I’m ready to close my eyes and fall asleep and put an end to this mad day and wake up to a new one. I am so grateful that none of our friends or former colleagues got hurt and I’m thinking of the 38 that lost their lives- may they rest in peace.
