Goodbye Stockholm, Hello London!

Holland ParkSo I find myself longing for my life in London, longing for the city itself and my favourite places awaiting me such as Holland Park. I’ve left too many precious things behind, specifically someone very special and can’t wait to be back tomorrow night. It has been great being home in sunny Stockholm with the family and presenting the My City Stockholm episode, but I will be flying back on clouds tomorrow evening. I’ve heard it’s been raining non-stop in London and I’ve just checked the weather and it seems like the rain will continue for another week. Why are we so scared of a little rain? I’ve decided from now on to dress right for the weather and enjoy my life as if its sunny :)

Spring in Stockholm

So I’m home, sweet home where spring is in the air. Stockholmers are enjoying 20 degrees and this stunning scenery. This is why I miss Sweden – this incredible nature that surrounds us wherever we are. Our team has been filming all over the capital and I can’t wait to share the final piece with you when it goes on air late July. So far we’ve been working 10 hours every day but I hope to have the last day off to spent with my family and do some shopping. House of Dagmar is calling my name…

Scandic Grand hotel

Welcome to Scandic Grand Central! This is the hotel we stayed at over the weekend. This historical building is located in the centre of the Swedish capital, less than 5 minutes walk from the Central Station and all shopping sites. The 391-room hotel which opened in 2011 is the stylish flagship of Scandic Hotels, a Swedish brand with more than 150 properties across Northern Europe. The rooms have so much character and the comfortable beds offered a good nights sleep. I really loved the music quotes on the walls all across the hotel, the atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home. I always judge hotels by their toiletries and Scandic Grand offers shampoo, conditioner and soap from the Face Stockholm brand which is one of my favourites. The breakfast buffet was delightful, giving you a taste of the Swedish cuisine. If you book in advance you can get really amazing rates for this hotel. Me and my friends were really happy with our stay and I truly recommend this hotel if you’re planning to visit Stockholm.

I’m still recovering from the fantastic weekend we had here in Stockholm. My friends have now gone back to London while I’m staying here until Sunday to catch up with old friends and spend some quality time with my family.

Over the weekend I got to act like a tourist guide, showing my friends our amazing capital and all its hidden gems. We checked into Scandic Grand Central- if you’re visiting Stockholm then this is the place to stay; fantastic service, great rooms and based in the heart of the Swedish capital. My friends wanted to check out the shopping in Stockholm, which is amazing esp. if like me, you’re a big fan of Scandinavian brands such as Acne, Whyred, House of Dagmar, Tiger of Sweden and Filippa K. On Saturday night I took them out for a tour of the best Stockholm bars and clubs. On Sunday we visited the Old City (Gamla Stan) and a final visit to Max (Swedish version of Macdonald’s but 200 times better). Said goodbye and my parents picked me up to take me home to lots of TLC.

More Stockholm updates coming your way…

Off to Stockholm we go…

friends

louise and I

Friday at last! What are your plans for the weekend? I am all packed to take a bunch of my friends back home to Stockholm with me. It’s going to be an amazing weekend where I shall act as a tourist guide and make sure they leave singing Sweden’s praises. My friends will return to London on Sunday but I will stay on until the following Sunday and catch up with old friends and most importantly my family.  Life is good- esp when have a plan ;) !!! I can’t wait to share that plan with you but I need a few more months. It’s some exciting stuff I’ll have you know ;)

From home to home

My lovelies, I’m all packed and enjoying my last few hours here at home. I’ll be flying back to London tonight. I’ve had such wonderful time here in Stockholm. Done some seriously shopping, spent lots of quality time with family and gone for long walks in nature. I’ve also worked hard on some projects coming up. The next 10 days are going to be crazy. We have LFW ahead of us and I’m covering that for work. I look forward to the end of it when I can hopefully look back and be happy with the work I’ve done. If you will be around during FW please drop me a line, would be great to meet you.

And she returns

Lovelies, I’m home in Stockholm since Saturday and will be staying for another ten days. I’m aware that I’ve been the worst blogger ever but I think all bloggers go through phase where they feel uninspired as well as being super busy. I have several exciting projects on that I will be able to tell you about in a few weeks time.

It’s autumn. FACT! I have to accept it and put away all my summer clothes. I went shopping with mum and got lots of great basics today:  two body-con skirts in gray and black to wear with tights and thick long cardigans. A few basic tops, denim shirt, and long warm cardigan. I love the colours this season esp. all the mustard and green. I need a green dress to wear with black boots.

Stockholm on a sunny day

The past 10 days at home have been more than amazing. I am so well rested and happy. There’s something magical about Nordic countries and I feel so blessed to have my parental home in the most beautiful capital in the world, Stockholm. Some times I wonder what it would be like to move back home after all these years. Perhaps I would get bored after a while since I’m used to a totally different life tempo now, but one thing I would never get bored with is the amazing nature we have. And what’s better for our minds and souls than being close to nature.
