My favourite Crayons

My lovelies, sorry for the long silence. I had a busy week back in London with work and life in general and decided very last minute to take the rest of my holiday  and come to Tenerife to see my family. Dad has been a little unwell but is much better now and I feel very happy being here by their side.

The weather is fantastic and I’m enjoying my days on the beach. Unfortunately I have little access to the Internet. Will try my best to update as much as possible. Here is my latest obsession, Nars Lip Pencils. They were recommended to me by one our make-up artists at work. These lipsticks look like a jumbo-size crayon and are very rich in pigment. My favourite red is Cruella, it has a matte finish and really stays on all day which is a first for any lipstick I have ever tried. I also got the the glossy version of the pencil in Mexican Rose, gorgeous on its own or over a lipstick to add colour and gloss effect.

From one home to the next

Enjoying my last day here in our winter home in Tenerife. It’s been so nice to be next to my family, catching up on love and sleep. I fly back to London later today. I know the cold is awaiting me, but so are all my loved ones and I can’t wait …. London is a funny city. It takes time to get used but then it suddenly feels like home and you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

This is the view from our balcony. My favourite place to go for a walk to clear my head. Since I’ve been here alone this time I’ve had plenty of time to think about life and the future. What I found is that I’m comfortable with my thoughts and where they are taking me. And it’s true what they say, the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one we have with ourselves.

Tenerife

Look up every now and then…

Went for a stroll down the beach today and on my way I passed the usual birds sitting on powerlines. How safe is that really? birds on power wire

Then something less usual…. How on earth did they get up there and did he (I assume it’s a he by the size of them) walk home barefoot? shoes power line

From Brussels to Tenerife

Lovelies, I got back from Brussels last night. We were there for three days covering the EU foreign ministers meeting on Iran oil embargo. We had an exclusive interview with the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton which you can watch here. It is an unfortunate situation, we all know the affect these sanctions will have on ordinary people in Iran.

I spent this evening with my girlies Stina, Charlotte and Matilda. Is there anything better than catching up with your close friends over a nice cup of tea? Of course Stina’s super charming kitty Leon was also there. Tomorrow I’m leaving for Tenerife to spend somemuch needed quality time with my family.

Puerto de la Cruz

My lovelies,

How have you been? We have left the rain behind in London and for the past four days been enjoying the beautiful weather in Tenerife. Been spending most of the time with my family which has been lovely. Mum is cooking us delicious food and dad is entertaining us with stories. We even managed to do some shopping. How I needed this break….

My Parents

My lovelies,

I’m sorry for lack of updates but I needed this time away from computers and television to spend with my family. As you know I’m in Tenerife where we have our holiday home. The weather is just perfect for long strolls down the beach. Every morning I have breakfast on our balcony with a view of the ocean and my mind feels totally clear. This is the perfect getaway so you understand why I’m escaping technology for a while.

How was your Christmas? Mine was very relaxing and all about the family. My dad has been a little unwell and had some problems with his eyes but looks like everything is going to be ok which is the best news we could hope for. I know I’m well behind with the About me list but I still intend to get through the 20 days….just in my own speed ;)

DAY 03 : My Parents

My love for mum and dad is endless. Where do I begin? My parents have been married for over 40 years and dad still treats mum like a princess. My dad is a superhero, seriously I suspect he sneaks out to save the world at night. I’m such a daddy’s girl, he spoils me rotten. When things are bad, when nothing and no one can cheer me up he comes along and with one sentence puts the world in order. I feel beautiful inside and out because my daddy thinks I am. I feel strong because my dad says I am, I know everything will always be ok because my dad says it will. I love him so much and can’t imagine the world without him in it. My mummy is my best friend. I tell her everything, probably too much at time. She is such a lady, so beautiful, so calm and so elegant (I’m always stealing clothes from her wardrobe, not that she ever minds). Everything she does is for her family and she always wants the best for us. Ofcourse like most mother and daughters we have our fights, two strong wills and me wanting to make my own decisions even if they are the wrong ones. I love her so much and she is with me where ever I go and in what ever battle I enter.

Dena goes on holiday

Hello my lovelies,

We are now in Tenerife where it’s 21 degrees in the evening. What a big difference to the London I left this morning which it was freezing cold. Our flight was 2 hour delayed because of a little snow- why can’t the Brits ever be prepared? Other than that everything went well. Spent the extra 2 hours shopping tax-free: Clarins skin products and pretty things from accessorize.  It feels amazing being home with the family (we have our holiday home here, so travel between here and Sweden). Mum cooked lovely Persian food. I will keep updating from here, photos etc to come. Hope you are all well. I miss you and will be following your updates from here.

love Dena

xoxo
