Bimba & Lola makes its London debut

I can’t tell you how delighted I was when I received an email from Bimba & Lola head office telling me that my favourite  Spanish Fashion brand was coming to London.

The ready-to-wear and accessories label opened it’s first store at Westfield in October and I’ve been back several times since. Bimba & Lola not only promises a mix of elegance and the latest fashion trends, but also the very best quality when it comes to leather and fabrics. My favourite winter coat and boots comes from there, all I am missing now is one of their signature bags stamped with the greyhound silhouette.

I am sure Bimba & Lola will become as big a success here as it is in the rest of Europe, Asia and Middle East. The store in Westfield is only the beginning and I am so glad that I no longer need to fly to Spain to get my bimba & lola fix.

A bite of heaven

As many of you know my work schedule is not like most peoples. When you work in television, esp news, you tend to do 12 hour shifts which means you end up doing 4 x 12 hours and then you have 4 days off. I’m sure this sounds like heaven to many, but rotating this way means certain months (like this month) I work all weekends. This week I have Monday- Thursday off and today I spend most of the day with boyfriend. We went to Vue cinema in Westfield and watched The Adventures of Tintin. I was so disappointed- being the Tintin fan that I am I expected so much more. Have you seen it yet? if so then what did you think?

Handsome wanted to spoil me for putting up with the movie so he tooks me to my little heaven here in London: Ladurée ;) I had the Ispahan: Smooth rose flavored macaroon biscuit, rose petal cream, fresh raspberries and lychees. I can’t imagine anything more delicious.Laduree

If I could I would…

What’s up with this weather? It’s mid June already :( I’ve ignored the cold and rain and enjoyed my day so far. Met up with a friend at Westfield for a lovely lunch and some shopping. I got myself a few more summer dresses and can’t wait to wear them when the weather allows.  Have you found any bargains in the Sales? Now time to get ready for a birthday party at Aqua Neuva.

A great way to start the day

It’s a perfect morning here in the Dena residence. Mum is right next to me :) She arrived on friday and we have been spending every minute of my days off together. I took her to Westfields yesterday for some shopping then she cooked handsomes favourite dish for dinner. Now we are just relaxing before heading to King’s road for some more shopping.

What else makes today so special? Well it’s my beautiful Marta’s birthday. Happy Birthday sweetie! Can’t wait to celebrate you here in London. ♥

Give me a D

My lovelies,

How was the start to your week? it’s been a long day. I worked 12 hours then headed to Gymbox in Westfield for a good work out. Finally in bed relaxing with a nice cup of teapig green tea. I’m loving my new cup from Anthropologie. Got myself and handsome one each with our initials on them.

What Dena did…

My last four days off work seem best described in photos and with food :)

1. Celebrated a dear friend’s birthday at Persian restaurant Beluga. Great Service, fantastic food plus outside seating. Her b-day cake was so delicious, we always get our b-day cakes from Bake & Cake- best in London.

2. Met up with my editor and my Jerusalem correspondent who was in town for delicious passion fruit cocktails at Bar red (just off Carnaby street).

3. Had cupcakes with my lovely Katie. She took me to Primark- my first visit there and I realized I’m too much of quality snob to be able to shop there.

4. Had dinner at Busaba Eathai (Westfield) with handsome. I’m crazy about Thai food and they are best for it. You can find them at Westfield, Wardour street, Old street and a few other places. Make sure to have the lemon grass tea and coconut cookie for desert.

Istanbul part 2

Lovers, how are you? I am having a “ME” day which means I’m staying in bed, doing face masks, watching The Vampire Diaries (yes I’m totally addicted and can’t get enough of Damon). It’s a gorgeous day here in London and I know I should take the opportunity and head out but every bone in my body needs rest and I’m enjoying it truly. Gym in a couple of hours… I’m still member of LA fitness but have been thinking of switching over to Gymbox at Westfield for a long time. The only thing stopping me is that the Bayswater branch of LA fitness is no more then a 10 min walk from our place while for gymbox I will need to get on the tube. Gymbox does so many fun classes…. what to do?

Here are some photos from Istanbul. The first one is of our live position- now that’s great working conditions. Can’t wait for the next duty trip. Was hoping to be needed in South Africa for the Mandela story but they sent a very small crew of two people. Next time…

Eat Pray Love

Just got home from the cinema, we watched Eat Pray Love. Such an inspirational film, how I would love to take some time out to just live. I don’t even ask for a year, a few months would be perfect. Enough time to travel, explore, experience and write. Well I should be grateful, I’ve got enough traveling ahead of me.

They call it stormy Monday

Hello lovelies, how was your weekends? I was meant to work all weekend but took  a sick day on Sunday- can’t remember the last time I did that. I had such a headache I couldn’t open my eyes, my whole body was aching. Must be some strange flu going around or maybe the strange weather we have been having in London.

I’m better today but still a little achy. That didn’t stop me from waking up early and heading to Westfield mall to buy a new charger for my Macbook and a birthday present for my friend Beckie. We are both Leo’s and every year we do dinner and cocktails at our favourite restaurant Gallipoli’s on Upper street. It’s our little tradition which I hope we will keep up for many years to come. I can’t wait to see her tonight. I even felt like getting dressed up a little so I’ve put on my Reiss skirt which has been in my closet for a while but never been worn before. It reminds me of a tulip. I haven’t added any accessories in these photos, going to wear my black Hermes bracelet and black Luella bag.
